What is Rose-Hulman Ventures?
Rose-Hulman Ventures, a department of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, provides educational opportunities for students and faculty while assisting technology-driven businesses. This unique combination creates career opportunities for new graduates and the development of innovative technologies and technology companies. We are located in a 180-acre Certified Technology Park in a state-of-the-art 35,000 square-foot facility on the south campus of Rose-Hulman.

Our students, faculty and staff focus on developing technology ideas and proven technologies into commercial products and services.

• Our full-time staff of engineering project managers set us apart from traditional incubators and technology parks. They oversee the multidisciplinary teams of undergraduate and graduate students who make significant contributions to the technical development of businesses. These professionals devote their careers to the design, development, fabrication and testing of our clients’ products and services.

• Since its inception, Rose-Hulman Ventures provided 1,155 internship opportunities (431 students) ranging from the technical development of medical devices to analytical instrumentation.
- Students have logged over 164,491 hours of professional practice experience.
- RHV employed 88 students the summer of 2005 and 682 students during the
  2006 spring
quarter.

Project Management – Project managers and project engineers excel in analyzing the scope of a project, defining project requirements and allocating resources including multidisciplinary teams of students. They adhere to client specifications and industry standards while identifying optimal tools and technologies enabling companies to meet specific project requirements, on schedule and on budget.

Proven Engineering Track Record – Since 1999, over 50 Indiana-based companies have trusted Rose-Hulman Ventures with the technical development of its products and services, medical devices and software to chemical synthesizers and construction equipment.

How was Rose-Hulman Ventures established?
The Lilly Endowment recognized a need to nurture the opportunities for education and innovation in Indiana and awarded a $30 million grant to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 1999 to establish Rose-Hulman Ventures. The Lilly Endowment Inc. awarded Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology a $24.9 million grant in 2002 to build upon the success of programs at Rose-Hulman Ventures and to expand the educational and professional practice experiences for Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology students and faculty.
