Electronics and Instrumentation

• Acoustically Adaptive Audio Processor - developed an embedded microprocessor system that listened to and adaptively responded to its audio environment.
• Enclosure for Electronic Product - developed and prototyped the enclosure for a new electronic video processing system.
• High Frequency Power Supply - optimized the design of a high frequency power supply for laboratory apparatus.
• Personal Computer Accessory - developed and prototyped a circuit for monitoring the performance of personal computers.
• Automated Laboratory Apparatus - developed  a table-top parallel chemical reactor system, including a thermal control system, robotic sampler, automated reagent dispensing, and stirring.
• Electronic Motor Drive Design - developed and prototyped a custom brushless motor drive for laboratory apparatus.
• Automated Test Equipment - developed a machine to automatically test printed circuit boards for surface contamination.

Mechanical Design and Analysis

• Heavy Construction Equipment Design - designed and prototyped a new modular road grader and ditch digger.
• Finite Element Analysis - performed finite element analysis of various components of a new Stirling engine design.
• Internal Combustion Engine Design - assisted with the thermal modeling of a new novel internal combustion engine.
• Electrical Machine Test Facility - designed, assembled and tested a 300 hp automated electrical machine test facility.

Medical Product Development and Prototyping

• Surgical Devices - developed and prototyped a new automated surgical instrument, and associated control system.
• Medical Devices - helped a resident client develop, analyze and prototype a new orthopedic device

Optical Systems

• Optical Signal Processing System - prototyped a very high speed analog to digital converter employing all optical components.
• Optical Sensors - developed and prototyped the optical components and supporting microprocessor electronics for a new optical sensor for use in an rugged environment.

Process Optimization/Analysis

• Thermal Measurements and Analysis - assisted with a thermal study of industrial equipment and provided analysis of effects of applying additional insulation.
• Optimization of a Condenser - assisted a client with optimizing the design of a condensing system for the recovery of waste solvents.

Software Development

• Graphics Programming - Machine Vision - developed graphics processing software for a system employing machine vision components.
• PDA Software - assisted two different clients with developing software applications for use on personal digital assistants in a medical environment
• Software for Government Applications - developed software for use by county governments to manage property taxes
• Web-Based Software Development - developed a web based system for tracking and reporting on efforts expended by multiple employees working on multiple engineering projects.

Wireless Sensors and Systems

• Wireless Sensors - developed a family of wireless battery powered sensors for use in monitoring personnel, conducted field trials, developed supporting analysis software.
• Wireless Electronic Monitoring - developed a new hand held electronic instrument to monitor wireless networks for interference.
• Wireless Bar Coding and Tracking System - assisted a client in evaluating and developing specifications for a wireless bar coding system to track thousand of items.
