The Challenge
Maddock had the big idea. If they could develop a machine that would fulfill multiple road construction needs with one common body, it would sell.

Maddock Corporation has been in the highway construction business in Indiana for more than 25 years. Dave Maddock could see changes in the industry and knew how to meet the product needs of his clients, so he started Maddock Industries.

As a small company, Maddock Industries didn't have a full-time staff of engineers that could devote time to researching and developing new products. Nor did they have unlimited capital resources to hire an engineering design firm. Then they heard about Rose-Hulman Ventures. 

The Result
Although construction equipment is not often seen as a highly technical end product, the engineering skills and sophisticated embedded technology used in the creation of construction machinery are very technical. Utilizing the skills of civil, mechanical and electrical engineers, Rose-Hulman Ventures helped Maddock Industries develop their specialized highway construction equipment faster and less expensively than they could have with any other entity.
